Cottage on a Lake

This Montana client’s love of sunny beach cottages seemed the ideal antidote for what partner Chuck Dietsche called the “Field and Stream log monsters” that had been cropping up around their beautiful lake. The resulting design was a warm, light-filled home outfitted with the client’s collection of campy antiques and vintage lake memorabilia. The cottage is built on a steep grade that maximizes the presence of the lake, with 3 floors of windows on the lake side and just the top floor visible from the street side.
