Flora's Bluff

Bald Head Island’s Flora’s bluff, with easy beach access and spectacular ocean views, is the perfect spot for resort cottages. Planner Chuck Dietsche and architect Dan Costa created an ecofriendly village of single and multifamily cottages that retains the full splendor of the site with minimal environmental impact. An association owns and preserves all of the land beyond the footprint of each building, carefully maintaining the natural beauty of the open spaces between the cottages for all to enjoy. Through careful siting, only one tree was cut in the creation of 27 units on Flora’s Bluff and 25 more on neighboring Killegray Ridge.

Porches and overlooks are sited to maximize solitary views of the ocean.

Cottages are clustered together preserving the ancient forest that surrounds the village.

Land around the cottages is owned by the association, which maintains its natural landscaping.
